Evaluating Film Translations-- Developing Assessment Criteria

Now that we have read and viewed a selection of texts and their subsequent film translations, we need to determine criteria through which we can evaluate the products of the page to screen process. Re-read the notes on Kahir's ideas concerning the translation process and types of translations. Then re-read Susan Orleans' foreword to the working script of Adaptation. With these readings in mind, reflect upon the books and films we have studied thus far. Consider your reactions and observations of these films.

Your blog will serve as your "critic's corner" and will serve as a place where you will comment upon the films and books that we study in class. Today, you will create your own blog. Think of a name that reflects the purpose of this blog and the class for which it is created. You can be creative with your title-- but remember it is for school so the title, as well as all content, must be appropriate for a school community. Experiment with different templates and customizations.
